Orthetrum coerulescens

This dark metallic species is not as frequent as S. metallica and Cordulia aenea but is found
here and there in bog waters and along forest roads all over Sweden.
Key characteristics
The separated yellow spots in the frons in combination with the characteristic shape of the anal appendages (male) and the yellow spots on the third segment of abdomen (female). Females without the yellow spots have been reported from Norway
